Anglian Water UK Project

In 2023, Muskerry Civils was deployed on one of Europe’s largest civil projects with Farrans Ireland and Anglian Water UK. Our role focused on de-vegetation, tree felling, and ecological works along 300km of pipeline to support large-scale water infrastructure development.

Challenges

The project required extensive ecological planning and implementation to protect wildlife while creating safe and accessible sites across a vast, linear work zone. Maintaining habitat integrity for dormice, badgers, bats, and water voles added complexity to the civil works.

Our Work

  • Cleared trees, hedges, and vegetation across 300km of pipeline routes.
  • Installed wildlife protection measures under ecological supervision, including dormice boxes, badger gates, and bat-friendly fencing.
  • Coordinated with ecological teams and wildlife detection K9 units to minimize environmental impact.
  • Ensured safety and efficiency in all de-vegetation and site preparation activities.

Outcome

Muskerry Civils successfully delivered large-scale civil and ecological works while preserving local habitats. The project strengthened our expertise in integrating civil engineering with environmental protection on a major European infrastructure project.
