Cork City Water Supply Scheme
Muskerry Civils carried out de-vegetation, reinstatement, and civil works including deep excavations, crane-assisted machinery transfers, and pipe welding, delivering safe and efficient solutions to correct misaligned installations for Farrans Construction in Cork.
Challenges
The project demanded deep excavations and large-scale civil works in a highly challenging environment. Due to the significant dig depth — approximately 16 metres — our team required crane assistance to safely transfer heavy machinery from ground level to the base of the excavation.

Our Work
- Carried out de-vegetation and reinstatement to prepare and restore the site.
- Managed firefighting and subducting works essential for site safety and infrastructure.
- Conducted deep excavations with safety-first methodology.
- Used crane-assisted transfers to position machinery into restricted areas.
- Performed precision pipe welding to correct and extend sections where previously installed pipes had fallen short.
Outcome
Despite diverse weather conditions and technical challenges, Muskerry Civils successfully delivered all works on time and to specification. The project highlighted our ability to adapt to new challenges and strengthened our expertise in large-scale civil engineering. It also gave our team valuable experience in handling complex excavation logistics, reinforcing our capability to take on more extensive infrastructure projects in the future.
